The MTA is planning on sending the majority of communication now through personal email rather than the school account. This month and next month’s Rep council meeting notes will be on both. If you are an MTA member that did not get the message sent to personal email, and would like to be added, please go to our website www.mta-207.org There is a place at the bottom of the splash page to enter your information.
Todd Ruder volunteered and was approved by the rep council to be a rep for Maine West. At the moment, there are two spots available for rep council: one at East and one at South. If you are interested in being a representative, please let us know.
The insurance committee looked into adding Mental health parity to one or both of the PPO plans. The committee determined that it does not make good financial sense to do it now. We will explore this option again next summer.
We are starting up our public relations committee. We are looking for people that would like to help out with this. Please note, you will not be in the “limelight”. Any decisions made by the committee would be put out to the public through the Rep Council as a group. We are looking for people to help brainstorm ideas for how the MTA should have a digital and public presence in the communities that we serve. See a rep for details.
The negotiations committee has meet a few times. The team is going to start bargaining on Monday the 25th.
